Kapangan, Benguet is a few hours trip from Baguio City Town Proper. I was fortunate enough to go here to experience their way of life and to mingle with the people there. Our group stayed in this house, which is owned by a health worker. This house has been standing since the 1940s as what was told by the current owner. It had 2 small bedrooms where we crammed ourselves, lying in our sleeping bags. Our water supply was a few kilometers away. We had to walk all the way there just to get water to wash the dishes, wash our clothes, and also to get water for taking a bath. The floor of the house was also in bad condition and we had our share of insects crawling in our sleeping bags at night. It had holes as big as our fists. But all’s well, that ends well. The trip to Kapangan is one of the most relaxing experiences I’ve had. Except that it takes a long time to go here. Road conditions are tolerable especially when with the whole group
